Progressive Insurance Rebate: $300 Payment Coming - Check If You Are Eligible!
New Post Check Here!

Governor DeSantis announced a Progressive Insurance rebate yesterday for Florida’s customers. If you are a Progressive customer in Florida, you can check the full details of the rebate here.

Florida has some of the highest auto insurance premiums in the US. The average coverage of insurance is between $2767 and $3000 annually. The governor has taken legislative efforts to decrease the rates and reform the insurance litigation.

The Florida law enabled the rebate as it mandates that if the insurer earns above a certain threshold, refunds are a must. The government highlighted that nearly $1 billion in rebate credits will be offered to the customers.

What will be the Progressive Insurance Rebate?

The Governor said the Progressive insurance rebate was possible due to the legislative reforms, as the largest auto insurance company is going to have a profit over a certain limit. The reports state that Progressive can make $950 million profit over three calendar years ending on 31 December 2025.

The estimated profit of the Progressive is higher than the limit; hence, they are obliged to return the money to the customers. Based on the estimate, the Progressive customers can receive an average rebate of $300.

The rebate calculation method is not revealed; hence, we have no clue how the payout for the individual will be determined, but remember, the rebate will be either a credit to your bill or processed as a check. The form of the rebate will depend on the auto insurance company’s implementation.

Who will receive the Progressive Insurance Rebate?

As per the announcement made by the Governor, the following Florida residents will receive the Progressive Insurance Rebate:

  • The Florida residents who have the Progressive policies active on 31 December 2025.
  • The reports state that around 2.7 million policies will be eligible for the progressive insurance rebate.

When can you expect the rebate?

The Governor has not announced the rebate process specific date when he made the announcement yesterday. However, he did mention that for 2.7 million Progressive policies, the rebate will be processed early in 2026 as a credit on their insurance bills or check.

The inquiry on Progressive for the rebate is still pending, and the profit official statement will be out by the end of the year, so the final announcement about the rebate can be made by the end of the year.

How will such a rebate benefit the residents?

The Florida Governor confirms the rebates from the Progressive company under the legislative reform of 2022, let’s see how it will benefit the residents:

  • Florida frequently has storms or natural disasters that require residents to have insurance and pay the high premiums to safeguard their property or assets. With the Florida residents paying the high insurance premiums, the rebate will come as a relief to Progressive customers.
  • Such rebates can be the start of something new and provide financial relief to the residents paying high insurance premiums.
  • With such initiative, residents can expect lower rates in insurance premiums. According to reports, top insurance groups have a 6.5% reduction in rates, whereas Liberty Mutual had 7% reduction in rates in 2025.
  • The residents will follow the simple profit strategies and will be accountable through paying back to the customers under the legal reform.
  • If the rebate is issued as a check, the Progressive customers can use the rebate amount for personal use.

Will all other insurance companies also offer such a rebate?

For now, it is only the Progressive insurance company that will be offering such rebates; however, Florida regulators say that they will talk to the other groups or major auto insurance companies to provide rebates.

Governor and Insurance Commissioner Mike Yaworsky said they will have discussions with the top insurers based on the 2022 legal framework to share their profit with the customers if it exceeds a certain limit.

However, some companies may choose to cut the rates, which is also profitable for the customers. In both cases, it’s a win-win for the residents and much-needed relief from the increasing insurance premiums.

The Progressive Insurance rebate is meant to support millions of customers paying insurance premiums in early 2026, so if you are one of the customers, keep an eye on the official channels of the governor or the company’s official channels.
