The lawsuit against Nuance Communications over the MOVEit data breach happened between 27 May 2023 and 31 May 2023. The data breach provided access to MOVEit file transfer software and compromised the individuals, employees, and patients’ personal and health information.

How much will you receive under the Nuance Communications MOVEit settlement?
From the settlement fund of $8.5 million, the administration will first cover the class representatives’ service awards, attorneys’ fees & costs, administration expenses, and other expenses. The rest of the settlement fund will be used to compensate the valid claimants based on their claims.
The settlement allows the following settlement benefit based on the claims the class members made in the claim form:
- Ordinary Loss payment:
- You can claim the ordinary loss payment of up to $250o for losses like bank fees, long-distance phone calls, data charges, etc.
- The $2500 payment includes up to 4 hours of lost time at $25 per hour that class members can claim.
- Extraordinary loss payment:
- The class members who have faced proven monetary loss incurred between May 31, 2023, and the claim closing date can receive the extraordinary loss payment.
- The maximum payment under the extraordinary claim is up to $10,000.
- Alternative cash payment:
- If you do not have a documented loss, you can claim the alternative cash payment of up to $100, which will be equally distributed among the class members.
Apart from the monetary benefit, the class members will also receive two years of medical data monitoring, credit monitoring, and protection against identity theft from the settlement.
