Boston Children’s Health Physicians has agreed to the settlement of $5.15 million to resolve a class action lawsuit filed against the company. The fund is going to be distributed among the class members after deducting the attorney fee and administration costs.

In September 2024, hackers got into the computer server of the BCHP and hacked personal and medical details of more than 900K customers and employees. After that, in October and November 2025, affected patients, parents, and employees were notified via mail and email about it.

Between December 2024 and January 2025, many affected patients and guardians filed lawsuits against the company alleging that it failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures to protect crucial data. And then plaintiff Noni Wahab consolidated all cases into one by March 2025.

After that, from April to May 2025, they discussed the settlement, and then the defendant agreed to a settlement of $5.15 million and free medical data monitoring for class members without accepting any wrongdoing. In July 2025, it got the preliminary approval, and then it was publicly announced in August 2025.

In September 2025, all class members received notice from the settlement administrator explaining the claim process and benefits. The online claim process has already started from October 2025; the due date for the same is November 25, 2025.
