Amazon To Automatically Pay Prime Users Up To $51 — Are YOU Getting Money Back?
New Post Check Here!

The Federal Trade Commission has updated the automatic payment date of the Amazon settlement to be paid in December 2025. If you are an Amazon Prime subscriber during the class period, find out your automatic payment and other details.

Amazon will pay its customers who have enrolled in Prime subscriptions and faced difficulty in canceling them later. The compensation comes from a $2.5 million settlement under the antitrust lawsuit filed by the FTC, where $1.5 million is for compensation and $1 million will be paid as a civil penalty.

The FTC Amazon refund will be processed through two stages: (a) automatic payment, and (b) claim process. Eligible customers can receive a payout of up to $51 under the automatic Amazon refund as compensation for not being able to unsubscribe from the membership and the deceptive practice of Amazon.

Who will receive the automatic Amazon settlement payout?

You will be eligible for the automatic Amazon settlement refund if you meet the following three eligibility criteria:

  • You are living in the United States, and you are an Amazon Prime customer.
  • You are enrolled in the Amazon Prime subscription through the challenged enrollment flow (signed up through shipping selection page, universal Prime decision page, single page checkout, or Prime Video enrollment flow) between class period 23 June 2019 and 23 June 2025.

OR

You have attempted to cancel your Prime membership during the class period but were unable to do so.

  • In the 12 months, you have not used more than 3 Amazon Prime benefits, such as Prime Video, Prime Music, etc.

When will you receive the automatic Amazon payout?

According to the Federal Trade Commission, Amazon will process the automatic payout to the eligible subscribers by 25 December 2025. If you meet the above eligibility criteria, you do not have to do anything; the e-commerce giant will refund your subscription fee up to a maximum payment of $51.

Important Note:

  • FTC is not processing the refund; Amazon will, so if you receive any message, email, or call about an Amazon refund impersonating FTC and asking for money, you should not engage in such calls.
  • You should report the potential scam to the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ and safeguard yourself.

Who will have to claim the Amazon settlement payout?

Millions of customers will receive the Amazon refund; however, not all will be eligible for the automatic payment, and they may have to claim the payout. According to the FTC Amazon refund, if you meet the following conditions, you will not receive the automatic payment; you will have to claim the payout:

  • You have subscribed to an Amazon Prime membership through the challenged enrollment flow during the class period, but have used the subscription benefit more than three times in a year.
  • If you have used up to 10 Amazon Prime benefits in a year, you will have to claim the payout.

When can you expect the claim process for the Amazon settlement payout to begin?

The claim process for Amazon Prime subscribers eligible for a refund but do not qualify for the automatic payment will start with the third-party claims administrator. The third-party administrator will send the claim process notice and notice to the eligible class members through mail or email.

According to the sources, information about the Amazon refund claim process will be out by 23 January 2026, and afterwards, the eligible claimants will have 180 days to file the claim, that is, 23 July 2026. Remember to check the official notice and double-check the info to ensure you have received the notice from a credible source.

The claim process will be revealed by then with the official settlement website, where you can file an online claim or mail the claim form to the third-party administrator. The settlement payout under the claim process will be the same as an automatic payment of $51.

The Amazon Settlement over the Prime membership will compensate the eligible customers soon through automatic payment, and if you do not qualify for the payment or do not receive the automatic payment of $51, you should wait for the claim process to start.
