- You are a citizen of the United States and live in any state of the nation,
- Your personal information was compromised in the June-July 2024 ILS data breach, and
- You received a notice from the settlement administrator, which carries a Class Member ID.
What to do to get the payout?
To get the payout from the ILS data breach settlement, it is mandatory for you to file a claim form by the due date. The deadline to file it is November 4, 2025; you can do so through the web portal or by mailing it. If you are interested in filing an online claim form, you are recommended to do so earlier.
Anyone who already has opted out himself or herself from the class members cannot file a claim form to get payout. Note that your online or offline claim form for this settlement will be accepted only if you provide all the details accurately; in case of error, you may not receive a single penny from the fund.

Online

- Click Submit Claim.
- Enter your Class Member ID.
- Click Next to open the claim form.
- Enter your personal information
- Choose your claim type, and upload proof, if needed.
- Review your details and certify everything is accurate.
- Choose a payment method.
- Sign electronically and click Submit, then save your confirmation.
Offline
- Download and print the paper claim form from the settlement website.
- Fill out the form with your personal information and Class Member ID.
- Attach proof for any expenses or time spent.
- Sign and date the form, then make a copy for your records.

How much will be received?
The amount you receive from the Independent Living Systems data breach settlement depends on the type of claim form you file. If you attach documents for out-of-pocket expenses to your claim form, you could receive a maximum of $5,000.
The total settlement fund is $14 million. The entire amount will not be distributed among the class members. Around 30% of this amount will be deducted for attorney fees and administration costs, and the remaining amount will be distributed among the class members.
The first payout will be given to those who have provided documents for out-of-pocket expenses. After this, the remaining amount will be distributed among those claimants who have not provided documents. It will be distributed among them on a pro rata basis.
When will the payment come?
The ILS data breach settlement payout will start after final approval, a hearing for which is scheduled for November 17, 2025. It is expected that it will receive final approval within two weeks of the hearing, and all claimants will receive their payouts within 90 days if there is no appeal.
If the final approval is received by December 2025 without appeal, then in this situation we can expect that we will get the payment in March 2026; if there is an appeal, then in this situation we will have to wait till July or August 2026 to get the payment.
