Who will get the payout?

To receive the payout of this settlement, it is necessary that you meet the eligibility requirements, which are as follows.

  • You are a citizen of the United States and live in Illinois.ย
  • You enrolled in a school between March 26, 2015, and May 15, 2025.
  • You had a Google Workspace for Education / G Suite for Education account.
  • You had a voice model or face model created, or you enabled Voice Match or Face Match in your school Google account.
  • You received a notice with the Class ID and Confirmation Number from the settlement administrator, and
  • You have filed a valid claim form by October 16, 2025.

If you meet all the above-mentioned requirements, you will surely get the payout once the settlement payment begins.

What is the current status of the settlement?

This settlement received preliminary approval early, giving class members a deadline of September 1, 2025, to file objections and to exclude themselves from the class membership; and claim forms remained available until October 16, 2025, for those who want to receive a payout by filing their claims.

The hearing for final approval of this settlement was held on 14 October 2025, after which it got final approval on 17 October 2025, on which day the court decided the attorneys’ fees and service payments, and very soon the payment of this settlement will also start.

How much will be received?

The settlement administration has not made any information public regarding how much payment the class members will receive. You must know that the payment will be received on a pro rata basis. Claimants will receive the same amount; no one will receive less or more.

The total settlement fund is $8.75 million. This amount will not be distributed among Class Members. Attorney-free, administrative costs and taxes will be deducted. The remaining amount will be distributed among class members who submitted claim forms on or before the last date.

If the number of claim forms received is more than expected, then in this situation your payout amount will be small; if the claim forms are less than expected, then you may get a bigger payout from the Google $8.75 million settlement.

When to expect the payout?

The payout for the settlement of Google’s $8.75 million settlement will likely start within 90 days, as it is approved and unappealed. There is high speculation that the payout will come by February 2026 or even earlier; once the payout begins, it will be received by all class members within 30 days.
