Who will get direct deposit in November 2025 from the IRS?
For tax year 2024, the electronic and on-paper filing process was available until October 15, 2025. Taxpayers who e-filed their returns in this period will likely receive their refund in early November 2025, and in the last week of the same month for on-paper filers.
If you filed electronically, your refund should be received by the IRS within 24 hours, after which they typically process it within 7 to 10 days. Once processed, the payment is sent within seven days and received within a few hours in the bank account.
If we talk about on-paper filing, the refund is received by the IRS within 4 weeks of filing, which takes a maximum of 7 days for processing, and the payment is released by the IRS within a week, which is received within a few hours.
Is it possible to check the IRS direct deposit date?
Yes, you can check the date the IRS will send your direct deposit. If your 2025 return has been approved, you can do this by going to the ‘Where’s My Refund?’ tool and providing the required details, after which you will know the date you will receive your payment.
Once the IRS sends a direct deposit, it takes approximately 4 hours to receive it. If there’s a technical error, you’ll have up to 72 hours to receive your payment in your bank account. Don’t panic if you don’t receive your payment on the day it is sent by the IRS.
How to check the IRS direct deposit date?
If approximately 10 days have passed since your e-filed return, or even five weeks have passed since you filed it on paper, you can check whether you will receive your refund. Below, we’ve outlined the complete process to check the direct deposit date.
- 1). Go to the official website of the Internal Revenue Service, whose URL is irs.gov.
- 2). Under the Tools & Applications section, you will see an option ‘Where’s my refund?’ Click on it.
- 3). Now the option of ‘Check Your Refund’ will be visible to you. Click on it.
- 4). Here you have to enter your Social Security number and select 2024 in the tax year.
- 5) Opt for the filing status as Single, Married-Filing Joint Return, Married-Filing Separate Return, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er) / Surviving Spouse.
- 6). Enter the refundable amount in the figure and click the Submit button.
If your refund for tax year 2024 has been processed, you will see a date on which your refund will be sent by direct deposit.
What to do if your direct deposit is delayed?
According to the IRS, the electronic return is received by direct deposit within three weeks, but in the case of an on-paper return, it takes six weeks. If you do not receive your refund even after this much time, then first of all you should check the status of your refund to see whether the agency has accepted it or not.
If your tax return is rejected by the Internal Revenue Service, you will need to file an amended return for the tax year 2024, and once this is processed, you will receive your direct deposit from the IRS.
